Stories matter — especially the ones that might otherwise go untold.
I came to writing through a lifetime of hospitality, travel, entrepreneurship, teaching and community life. Those experiences taught me to listen carefully, ask better questions and look for the human story behind events, organizations and places.
Today I write as a community reporter and author. My reporting appears in Manitoba community newspapers, including the Minnedosa Tribune, Crossroads This Week and South Mountain Press, covering the people, organizations, history and everyday events that shape rural communities.
My longer-form writing draws from food, hospitality, travel, family, reinvention and the lessons accumulated through a life lived across Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. Grudges & Gratitude grew from that same instinct: to preserve the stories behind the kitchens, tables, people and experiences that might otherwise disappear.
Good writing, like good hospitality, begins by listening.
Local people. Local history. Stories worth preserving.
Reporting on community life, organizations, events, heritage and the people doing work that deserves to be recognized.
Whether you need an article, want to tell your organization’s story, refine a personal or professional piece, or simply get a story told, I offer practical, affordable writing, research and editing help for profiles, organizational stories, personal pieces and other projects.
